Bluebird of Happiness

Recently an artist friend of mine graciously gave me a magazine
with lots of birds and flowers  in it.
The Mag is called "Birds and Blooms" Beauty in your own Backyard

I really appreciated the gift
We both love to paint birds and
she knew I would be inspired by the issue.

Well I certainly was.
here is my take on a picture from the Magazine.

My watercolor of the bluebird
standing on a fence post.

In the mag the bluebird has a wormy in his beak
Did you notice that?
I did not make the worm in my painting.

this is  140 lb  watercolor paper

Bluebirds are so beautiful

flowers and birds are summery sweetness
and I love painting them both

Yea, I know, I changed the white daisy to yellow ones
I'm a cheater,  LOL
Hard to do white flowers in watercolors
at least for me.
I'm a newbie at this stuff after all

 Happy Trails to YOU!

Have a sunshiny, wonderful day!
KAT

I love watercolors! It's been many years since I painted with watercolors, but it was one of my favorites while going to school.

Thank you for stopping by my blog. I love your paintings. I love watching Sue Scheewe paint with water colors and acrylics on her PBS show. Here is a link to some of her stuff. http://www.painting-books.com/scheeweartworkshopdvdsetgettingstartedwithwatercolorandacrylicsusanscheewebrown.aspx
I am only putting it here because I think she may have painted white some white flowers. Love your china cup & saucer what a sweet memento of family. Your chicken painting is cute. I follow a blog called Chickens in the Road and it would fit right in with her blog.
Hope you have a great, rest of the week. Also, have you heard of Pink Saturday from Beverly at How Sweet the Sound? Just thought I'd throw it out htere.

You're really amazing with watercolors, Kat. I have a new appreciation of birds lately, so I really like this one. :)

Thanks for sharing it at the Sunburnt Cow Party. I featured you over at the Screaming Sardine.

Cheers,
Tracy
