Cards - happy PPF

Hi all
Happy Paint Party Friday once again

here is a  little Christmas tree inspired acrylics and pastels painting
I did not think about it much just wanted to paint spontaneously a tree and some stars

 a box arrived yesterday
with my painting made into some Christmas / greeting cards
You may remember this star painting
On my account with Fine art america . com I ordered 10 cards
just to check out the  quality
needless to say, I am happy with it
Here is the box when it arrived
this came in one week via UPS

inside was a very nice card box

in the nice card box was my 10 cards and nice envelopes for each also

on the back of the card was my name and the name of the art work

on the inside I could add what ever text I wanted to
so I came up with this
Inspired by the star that is hugging the earth (all of us)
and giving us all His heart (love)

Art for Christmas cards

Sorry I missed a few weeks with you all.
I have been busy with my son; packing/ moving  him
 into a new apartment
where he is starting a new job

...I am back home and working on a
few oil/  pastels art works
 to enter a Christmas/ Winter
greeting card competition this November.
The winning art work will have a Christmas card made
for  local  Ohio congressman, Peter Beck.
 (and 500 dollars also).
To say the least -  I sure could use that!
I didn't realize that it would be so much fun to try to come up with a design
that wasn't already done in some way.
I decided to go colorful and abstract a touch
here are a couple art works for the
 event/ contest in November

my work desk

thinking of adding this purple frame to it

two paintings side by side
sorry the photos are not that great
I have to use my hubs cheapo camera
I left mine in Chicago !

My Scout Hiking in Kentucky

My son and husband
 are campers - hikers- adventurers
I usually stay home and create my art
peace and quiet and no one
 looking over my shoulder ...
Less commenting before I am ready
...or want a comment to happen
so being alone is working out great
 for the creative process

I have four sons
as I have mentioned before on here
and as they are all going their own ways,
getting older
finding their place in their own lives.,
I am going my own way a little bit more

My artistic/ creative side is coming alive
more and more
I think because of the alone time I now have
If that makes sense to any one else,
 let me know.
Here is the latest camping adventure
 for the guys

wonderful Kentucky hills country

Mason Art Fest was a Fun Success !

I did pretty good at the
Mason Ohio Art Festival
My best Art Show ever
...

Even though this was  only the second art show I've been in
its still - THE BEST ONE!

 The weather was beautiful
Thank God

and my husband and son came to help me out

I really am glad I entered the Art Festival
I sold  a Cincinnati riverfront painting
and a sea scape and a fish blowing bubbles
three very different art works
I was very satisfied to have those three sales
My best experience ever at an art show
but I will work hard to do better next year.

here are some art show photos

Fall-ing Leaves

"Fall-ing Leaves"  pastels and oil paints that are water soluble work well together

making small paintings on canvas paper then cut them out and mount onto wood

very thinned oil paint of leaf shapes
I used wood glue to attach the canvas to wood blocks

oil pastels to give shades of color  - using my finger-tip to smear the color together

I may hang them in a chained together form like falling leaves

Like this

this one looks nice just setting on the mantle
