What's On Your Work Desk Wednesday ?

Hi Everyone
This is my work desk today
WELCOME

This is the back of some owls
I made from scrap wood
I got the wood in the throw -away bin at Home Depot

Happy little owls

Some old tree bark I found in the woods
has been dried and treated with sealant

cardinals are popular
this time of year
so i make a lot to sell
on my etsy
and in my art studio
which has an open house every month

This owl is a grey owl
but by moonlight of course he
appears purple and blue-ish

This owl is a amber color and has hints of orange
and sweet light brown eyes

So
What is lurking on YOUR
work desk this week?

Photobucket

Hugs and Happy November everyone

I love your owls and cardinals. I grew up in Ohio which has the cardinal as their state bird so I always feel a fondness for that bird.

Thanks for opening up your work space.

Just wonderful Kat! I love that you make things out of wood, I do that too but haven't lately. My scroll saw is put away and I'm lazy to bring it out. Excellent work, love it. I really like the brightness of your blog as it caught my eye right away. It's been a while since I've done a WOYWW and perhaps next week I'll do one. Thanks for sharing and again, love your work. Have a wonderful day.

Your wooden birds are lovely ... I have an owl on my desk today too. I love red cardinals - they don't come to Scotland unfortunately, but I did have them coming to my window feeder when I was lucky enough to be an exchange student in Massachusetts - I just loved that flash of red. They are quite nervous birds but I once had both a cardinal and a blue jay at the feeder at the same time - a beautiful sight. Have a great week. Elizabeth x #76

Hi Kat, just had to come back and let you know that guddle and chuffed are real words, I didn't make them up. I sometimes forget that I'm a Scot and we have our own dialect. Guddle is a Scottish word and refers to a state of confusion, a mess, disorder or untidiness - like my desk this morning. Chuffed, however, is a word I picked up during my years living and working in England - if you are chuffed you are pleased, proud, happy, delighted. They are both great words so I'm chuffed you like them :) Elizabeth x

Well behaved, politely lined up birds..what an amazing desk! Like the Cardinals very much...they don't feature very heavily over here at Christmas really....usurped by the Robin, I guess!
