Good times this Christmas

My Daughter-in-law, Jessica made me this

I Adore it...She made it by applying the cut out holly and edging it in gold

This apron is my favorite gift this year

 I will treasure it always
and wear it every Christmas season from now on !

This is my next project to get finished
Percy the mouse was so hungry
when he woke up one fine spring day....
But he wanted something sweeter
than the stale nuts and pine-cones he had stored in his log.

Happy Thanksgiving on Thursday

I am off to visit with my Dad
He is a monk living at
in Peru Illinois

I am making my dads favorite pie
  strawberry / rhubarb pie

In honor of my mother
I will wear the vintage red rose apron
that I purchased from Jen
at her etsy shop from Country Weekend Blog

here is my mom trying to guard me
from falling out of my high chair
 My mom loved red roses
and we all loved her and miss her
 she always wore an apron
 in the kitchen on
Thanksgiving.
This is my rose apron for Thanksgiving cooking at the abbey
thanks to Jen for this wonderful apron

I hope I can help out in some way
 in the monks big kitchen.

Dad promised he would meet me
at the abbey doors
with a nice glass of wine for me.
I am so excited to see him again soon !

For the Love Of Aprons

Im linking to Diana's blog today with the Apron post
Because APRONS are SWEET !!!

I discovered  some perfectly wonderful
 vintage aprons  online

this is my favorite color now !
Yes pretty in Pink, Baby !

These beautiful linen aprons
brought back fond memories for me
Jen of the  "Country Weekend" blog
also included a bonus treasure
some field books (love it )
a vintage postcard and a nice Catskills post card
my mum and my aunts, and my Gram in the kitchen
at our home in Michigan
 long, long ago.....

Oh Yes... Memories are so sweet !
My mum in a pretty plaid apron
and her pearls of course... around 1958

have to show you my dad also wore aprons too !
we are not chauvinistic in this family

My Mum is the third from the left or right
this is what happened after a lot of merriment during Thanksgiving
...and my uncle Dons brandy-old fashion's

Here is my dear aunt Agnes with a lovely apron on

This Thanksgiving My Mum has the see-through-y, lace apron on.
WOW... I need me one of those sweet aprons too !

here is a sweet yellow floral one !
Mum, is on the telephone
Did you ever have a black wall mount one like this one ?

a pretty blue floral apron
my mom loved blue very much

 So as you can see...
I HAD to click on "add to my shopping cart"

Thank you to Jen
for these sweet Aprons !
I am so happy to have these aprons
and I can not WAIT
to wear them on Thanksgiving and
while making all those Holiday  goodies in the kitchen
with the help of my four sons

perhaps a photo or two will be taken
and cherished by them always...

even when I'm with my Mum and Aunts and Gram !
may they all be partying hardy in the
Joyous, Glorious, Perfectly Wonderous Heavens.

"Look Mum,
I have my own sweet little aprons now !"
