Update :finished oil painting and some wire stuff

Some Art Updates
and QUESTIONS

I have been working on several projects lately
Getting this oil painting ready to hang in the gallery
for an open house (Art studios night) on Saturday.
I don't know if I should frame it or not.
i don't think i will...but it is still a little wet, to say the least
I want to have a safe way to handle it
so i may temporarily frame it with a simple frame
and spray it with temp sealant

A few Questions for you All

24 by 36 inch oil painting
 would you frame this?
what color frame if you would?
what price range should i shoot for on this?
added some white to the sky

I am also playing around with wire
do you like these shapes for jewelry

Could you see these metal swirls as a pendant
with maybe a bead or two added and a simple chain???
it is just steel wire that i flattened and twisted
should i add metallic or gold leaf paint?
should i just buff it with my dremel and sandpaper or wire brush?

Thank you for your artistic and sincere opinions
Hugs
KAT Griffin

Really awesome painting, it captures the feeling of summer beautifully... I'm not ready for autumn yet... T^T
Anyway, I think one can never go wrong with a classic white wodden frame. But that's just me... ^-^

I can't help you with pricing! It's really beautiful and I know someone will be thrilled to one it! A dark brown frame might work with the centers of the flowers! ♥

those are difficult questions Kat! Can't wait to see the solution!

I think it looks great on its own , love the swirling pendant,, thats cool,

I think a heavy dark gold frame would be wonderful, make it look sort of Van Gogh-ish.

As for the wire, yes, a couple of beads here and there and these would great, and I think silk cord would keep them really nice and simple.

Love the painting as is-- I wouldn't frame it! The wires are really cool--they would make great pendants.

Hi KAT,
I love your painting and think a bright gold leaf frame would make it sparkle. I'm never sure on pricing. I would check some daily painters, or other website to see what the going rate is for that size painting.
The jewelry is lovely. A bead would look great IMHO.
Good luck selling your work.
I have not posted to PPF yet nothing finished.

Love the shapes of wire, but no advice on prices etc, I never know what to do myself,

Beautiful flowers and sky painting!!!

I like it unframed and I tend to chose frames based on the work and my room where the painting will hang (and have been known to say to galleries that I'd buy a piece only if it was reframed or unframed). That aside I'd choose the colour of the inside of the flowers.

It turned out beautifully! A gorgeous painting.

Oh I would try all of the above ( metalic paint, buffing, ect on the different shapes) for the wire pieces, how fun! Not sure which frame color but I think both framed or unframed would be nice either way I love the painting!I like the white you added too!Deb

I don't have any answers, but the painting is stunning!

Your painting is beautiful as is, but I think a deep brown frame would look great too :)

Your jewelry would look beautiful with a bead or two... but I also like the shapes as is (I would skip the gold leaf).

KAT: LOVE the oil painting. I'd go with no frame too ... what are its dimensions? Happy PPF all week long!

Your painting is awesome! I LOVE it! I wouldn't frame it. And your jewelry is fabulous. I am in love with metalwork in jewelry. You are doing amazing work!

Pricing is so difficult. I have been advised to look at others who do similar work and compare prices. Sending you best wishes!

I think I would prefer it unframed. As for pricing that is a difficult answer. You have to check out your market, what you normally charge for your time, etc... I have a formula I use for pricing all my works. Email if you like!
The wire sculpture is great too! Wishing you great sales and happy PPF!
