Art Show Newbie

This Saturday is my first ever Art show
For me is is a little bit scary
I really don't know what to expect
I hope lots of kind people will show up
It is going to be in the upper 80 and sunny
Whew ! Hot but at least no rain to contend with
My 10 x 10 canopy is weather (water) resistant
Not weather (water) proof
I really did not want to be worrying about rain

I just want to enjoy the art festival
and get out of my house for awhile
 No ...that's a lie
I am actually forcing myself to be among other people
what is wrong with me ?
Don't answer that !

Here is my newfangled mat cutter
so I can make my own mats in any size I want
(did you know that fangeled is not a word apparently)
I haven't used it yet
I'm afraid of failure
... so I am putting it off till the very last moment
dum, dum, dum-dum Daaaaaauuuum

Painting has ended for awhile till this weekend is over
I am just trying to get everything matted and framed
and ...

Have a great weekend ! Happy Paint Party Friday !

I've been away for over a month and a half. In the last day or so, I have been attempting to catch up on the my fav blogs. I click on you this morning and see this post. I am so excited for you about this show. If memory serves me right...there was an art show sometime in the last year that you wanted to be in and the people wouldn't let you, except for helping at a table. It made me mad and I didn't even know you!!!! lol

So GOOD LUCK!!! Hope you have a great day...don't worry about the rain. It will all work out. :)

Hi Kat ~ Your paintings have wonderful 3 dimensional look to them along with texture and style ~ Trust yourself ~ relax ~ (which is what I have to tell myself) as I am having my 1st Artist Reception locally next Sat ~ I think we all feel anxious when we 'put ourselves' out there ~ You will do well ~ thanks for sharing and am sending distant Reiki energy for positive Show outcome ~ thanks, namaste, ^_^

Everything looks amazing! You will have a wonderful show!! And aren't all artists slightly reclusive? As for Fangled.... it's a word in my world albeit I'm a scrabble player and it's probably not legal!! lol

Good luck
Big hugs Giggles

These are beautiful! I'm sure you will have a wonderful time at the art show. And I think we should vote in "fangled" as a word! From one Kat to another - Happy PPF!

Oh- Kat! Don't worry about it...just go and love every minute of it. You will get some compliments and you will get some criticisms-it is part and parcel of displaying your works. I used to do a lot of folk art...some people loved it...some people hated it...but I did it because I loved to do it. You do an awesome job so just go and be proud of yourself! xo Diana

I love that path with the fence painting something fierce!
Enjoy the excitement of your first show!
Tomorrow night I am going to an art show where one of my textile peices is hanging! I love seeing my art on the walls of shows and watching other people looking at it. Sometimes if I am nearby I can hear them talking about it and that's fun too. Have fun!!!!
HPPF!

I'm late visiting folk this week so by now your art show will have been and gone - I hope it was worth forcing yourself to get out and mix with people (you sound so like me, I laughed out loud at that bit!) I really hope it was successful for you - your work is lovely - so wonderfully textured.

I like the look of that mat cutter - I'd love to be able to frame my own work although I mostly work on box canvasses these days so I guess I don't really need a mat cutter for that!

How did it go? I hope it was wonderful! I know that feeling of having to force yourself to get out amongst other people. I love your cardinals on the posts and that landscape at the bottom is absolutely gorgeous.

Thanks for showing the newfangled thingy (not a word either) for cutting mats. We all use words we all know but the dictionary doesn't know, lol. Congrats on the art show. I am looking forward to know only hearing about it, but your impressions and how you felt during and after. Love you work. Blessings, Janet PPF

That last one really draws me in - invites me to walk the road. Also love the blue you incorporated into the tree trunk. Beautiful! Hope you enjoy your show and plenty of people come to enjoy your art!
