Sorry I missed a few weeks with you all.
I have been busy with my son; packing/ moving him
into a new apartment
where he is starting a new job
...I am back home and working on a
few oil/ pastels art works
to enter a Christmas/ Winter
greeting card competition this November.
The winning art work will have a Christmas card made
for local Ohio congressman, Peter Beck.
(and 500 dollars also).
To say the least - I sure could use that!
I didn't realize that it would be so much fun to try to come up with a design
that wasn't already done in some way.
I decided to go colorful and abstract a touch
here are a couple art works for the
event/ contest in November
my work desk |
thinking of adding this purple frame to it |
two paintings side by side |
I have to use my hubs cheapo camera
I left mine in Chicago !

Hi Kat. Love your pieces. Peace on Earth is definitely what we all need. Thx for stopping by my blog and sorry you are missing your mom. ::sending you good thoughts::Take care.
I hope our Peace on Earth star wins! That one is so bright and cheery with a unique holiday look!
Love the colors and energy!
The star swirl is really nice. Your colors are gorgeous! Good luck with settling in, and all of your projects.
Love the star, so wonderful, but I like the other one, too. Good luck in the competition! HPPF!
Gosh they are all pretty wonderful... I would love to get one of those Peace on earth cards... what a great idea to run the contest... you will have to let us know if they open the voting to the public so we can get you over the line as the winner!!!
Fun paintings turned into cards! Good luck!
Love the sparkling stars. Wonderful art!
I love the peace on earth star swirl - it's totally original as far as Christmas card designs go and there is something about it which appeals to my fascination with the cosmos and the interconnectedness of it all! Good luck!
Love your designs, especially the top one. So much movement in there, and lovely colors!
Love your 'peace on earth' star. The color, the motion...gorgeous!
gorgeous colors! The first star looks like it's dancing in the sky!
I also favor the swirly star. Here's to you winning the 500 buckaroos! I live Northwest of Chicago, tell me where you left your camera and I'll go pick it up! Just kidding, though I would do that for you if there were any chance of it still being there.
Both are excellent ~ favorite is the swirling star ~ lovely work ~ ( A Creative Harbor) ^_^
Good luck in the competition. Your designs are lovely and worthy of being the chosen one. Happy PPF
