Girls Night Out ?

this is how my tree painting turned out
I did decide to be a risk taker
and add the cardinal

Right smack -dab,
almost
in the middle
Now that is breaking the rules...Right?

...but that is where the thing decided he wanted to perch
I had no control

I think he's looking for his mate...
...where did she go ?

must be girls night out !

happy PPF

ha ha! i love the way you do these birch trees. :)

well. if there is an aesthetics police making rules about where you can and cannot put your cardinal, it's only because they aren't able to paint their own.

your birch is awesome, and the cardinal is superb where he sits.

This turned out fantastically - I love the looseness to your painting style - the trees look amazing and I like the cardinal - he's almost hidden so you need to look closely - and isn't adding what you want to your work the best thing about artistic licence!!

Gorgeous! I could stare at this all day. Trees are kind of a personal symbol to be. Just wish I could paint them as beautifully as you. And the cardinal is where he is meant to be. ;)

Are there rules? I like this painting and the little red birdie likes them too. Looks like he found a perfect place to perch.

Well I think he had every right to choose where to perch among all those lovely trees! Happy Paint Party Friday!

Sometimes you have to bend those rules. I think it's a good spot for him. The branches cross just below there and bring your eye right to him.

I love where the cardinal landed! He is very unified in the texture of the branches.

Your writing cracked me up that it was girls' night out. Often I see a cardinal here searching for his mate, too!

Being from St.Louis makes me love your cardinal even more!

To me, the best part about "art rules" is they are definitely the ones meant to be broken- I LOVE your cardinal and his placement is (in my opinion anyway) perfect!
Happy PPF (a day late ;))

It turned out beautifully! I have a number of cardinals around my house and my experience is the males love to be front and center and singing their hearts out!

..hahaha! Very, very cute! I love where you painted him...on the curve of the branch, exactly where he would perch! I love the looseness of this painting...and Red, of course, too!!

I think the cardinal is fine where you placed him, and he adds a bit of color to the trees- well done! Patsy from
