I was not happy with the last tree painting with the cardinal

This is the first stage of it
I need to work on this a lot
but here is where it stands as of today
Busy busy busy
with a lot of other stuff going on right now

close up shows a bit of dripping

This close up is cleaned up a little more

 no drips anyway
LOL

 also working on....

(more to be added here
later today )
Hugs from rain soaked, Ohio !

I LOVE your tree paintings. I am trying very hard to to let the image into my mind when painting. They have effected me!! lol I like to put trees on paintings too. But mine are usually more symbolic than realistic. I am struggling with that type I want on a current series.

I love the way these particular trees seem to have a twisted thing going on... Nice.

We had 5 straight day of rain until yesterday. It seemed to lift and go leaving the most amazing weather behind. Hoping you get the same.:)

This is beautiful! I love the texture that comes out in the trees. :) Not sunny at all here. We had snow yesterday.

Rain here in Australia too... though I think spring rains are a bit nicer than cold or icy rains!! The painting is developing so beautifully and I am really impatient to see it as a finished product xx Happy PPF

I am really digging the tree thing lately. A couple weeks ago I did my first realistic (aspen) trees and just loved it. THis is turning out really nice and I am really excited to see where it goes!

I love your trees as well. If this were mine, I would take it off the easel and give it to someone to hold so that I couldn't touch it. It's perfect just as it is. I don't think it needs another brush stroke (other than your signature, of course).

I LOVE it! You're going to inspire me to buy some oils. I've been thinking about it for a while. Mostly I've been watercolor...acrylic...and oil pastel, but I remember how nice oils were when I last used them--31 years ago!!
