Happy Hump-Day - Already !
I have been suffering thorough a bad cold
that started in my throat, went to my chest and
now my aching head.
Today... I am just dealing with it as best I can.
I didn't get much done on my art though
I started a painting of a deer in the thicket/ woods
my photograph of a curious deer |
It is to be made from this photo
that I took a few years ago in the woods
The color got muddy so I had to paint over much of it
and start over but I did keep the deer
the green is branches that will be added again and hopefully
not get muddy again
my tools for painting |
I had to re-do the background and start over |
This deer was spying on us one spring day
my son was planning and eventually built
a foot bridge along a rustic path
in a public nature trail here in Loveland
on some land called The Simpson Conservancy.
It was his Eagle Scout project.
There was a bit of a fight against doing it
from a local man that lives nearby
and he did not think anyone should disturb
or alter the natural path ...
and a bridge was really raising his rankles.
But Drew stood his ground and was respectful
He promised to keep the area clean
and keep the bridge in nice condition.
I think I may even dig up a photo or two of his bridge
The whole boy scout troop helped to build it
and my son was in charge of the
planning and management of the work.
Dad the scoutmaster and big brother David helped out a lot |
Drew the Eagle scout and his finished foot bridge |

What a great undertaking and finishing..you must be so proud of him! What does the anti-bridge chap think now, do you know?
Love the deer photo...and the painting to be is interesting all those tools? for the painting or the bridge? I am impressed by the bridge which looks so perfect!
It's hard to be creative when your head hurts. Looks like it's going to be a nice painting though.
Your son and the scouts did an amazing job on the bridge. What a treat for anyone walking in the woods.
Looks like your deer painting is going great and that bridge came out really good. Very nice. Have a great week ahead.
Wow!! That's one awesome bridge!! You must be so proud of your son. Your deer painting is coming along. I know what you mean about it getting muddy. I have the same problem all the time. It's good to just stop, and step away.
I can't wait to see this painting completed, love the foot bridge!
What a fun piece! Love the Eagle project also. I have on Eagle and 4 more to go. Great post! Looks like a sneaky deer too. :)
Ouch, starting over and over, painting is like that. You look like you have a good handle on it though. Looking forward to seeing more of what and how you are doing with it. They can be so proud of their work/the bridge. Blessings, Janet, PPF
