PPF - Pears, the City and a Church

First things first
Here is  my finished painting of the bowl of pears
I painted this from a still life
I love my pretty blue ceramic bowl
don't tell anyone but it has a crack in the back
but I just cannot throw it away yet

oil on canvas - 8 by10

here is the finished Cincinnati painting
I had to touch it up because somehow
it got black smudges on it
I could not get them to clean off
but I like the sky now better
... so it all worked out

hard to get a good photo of this one for some reason

Update on my painting of the
Loveland Presbyterian Church

I am so happy to tell you
that Pastor Stephen Melton really liked it
so much so that he asked to purchase it !
I am so happy it has a happy home to hang in
 and to be appreciated

words in the painting do you see the words Discipleship, Loving, Praying, Caring, Welcome

I was invited to a service last Sunday
as all the loveland artists were
and we all could display our paintings of the  Church.

Pastor Steve talked  about forgiveness
It spoke straight to my heart
It is a hard and an emotional subject for me
but  he lifted my spirit a great deal.

happy weekend my friends

KAT- How wonderful that the Pastor bought your painting. How wonderful is that. I really love your pears i the blue bowl painting. It is a great rendition. I can see a difference in your paintings...even though it is the same style it is more "refined" (I'm not sure if that is the right word or not). Nice job.

I have had to deal with some very hard issues concerning forgiveness in the last few years...VERY hard. I hope you find some peace in your heart. xo Diana

The painting with the pears is terrific! Don't toss your blue bowl! I learned that in Japan they patch the cracks of pottery with gold, to show their experience. Maybe you can patch it with some resin or clay? and paint it in gold leaf? Assuming it is not to be washed or for food, that is.
happy PPF

Your paintings are fabulous! I especially love the blue bowl... I have one with a crack too, but it's too sentimental to let it go.
Congrats on selling the church painting.

your paintings are just amazing, I love your style, I'm so glad that the pastor bought your painting, I know its not the sale that is important but when you are trying to sell, it means so much, I know it does, we are all looking for acceptance of our work from others and words sometimes aren't quite enough, I'm really happy for you,

Wow KAT! What beautiful paintings you have been making. I especially love the Cincinnati piece.

Don't throw out the beautiful bowl. I have a gorgeous blue plate that cracked and I use it for display only. Still love it's color.

Enjoy the weekend!

i can't decide which painting i like most. the movement and energy captured in the cincinnati piece is gorgeous. i love the bright cobalt blue (i wouldn't through the bowl away either! :-) against the green/yellow of the pears. and congrats on selling your church painting to the pastor-- not surprising at all that he would want such a lovely representation of his community.

Love the pears in the blue bowl. i have several cracked pieces that I refuse to toss too. I just have to be selective on how I use them :0)

I am so happy your church painting is hanging where it is suppose to be. Still life is difficult for me. Good job with that one. The Cincinnati painting is awesome, absolutely brilliant. I love it. Blessings, Janet PPF
