Kat's Nature Is To Be Creative - I Love Paint and Stuff

Friday, November 4, 2011

winner will be picked soon and PPF

here is my art work for this week.
I am trying out the new water soluble oil paint
made by Winsor & Newton

I have not painted anything much, just yet
...still in the drawings stage
for this children's book.
called
"Percy"
My friend and I are going to do the
self publishing thing with Dog Ear Publishing
out of Indy.

So here is a little of what I have so far.
There is Percy, a hungry field mouse
that lives in an old log.
There are two mean rats,
and of course a
cat
to deal with.

Some of you may be wondering
about the first children's book,
 "Creeper"
It is in the process still.
It takes time when you self publish.
I look forward to these
little books coming out in 2012.

P S...I will pick one name
from the comments for the owl giveaway at noon and I will send the winner an email.
Thanks to those who commented on that giveaway post from last Friday.
you can still go to that post and leave a comment
before noon EST.

 Good Luck to you all.

I have not tried those paints yet and I just realized i miss spelled winsor and newton,, sheesh I use them all the time (watercolors ) and I did a paitning for Twenty Minute challenge,, misspelled, I once was a perfectionist with grammar and spelling but my head injury took that away from me.I think its so exciting to see the makings of your book, I can't wait to have them come out, I have grand children who love this story,

Water based oil paints sound so incredible, although I loved using the traditional ones because of the smell of the linseed oil. I used to work in an art supply store way back in time and things have certainly changed! Much easier for clean-up though.

Adorable work so far!
I prefer using water soluble oils, a lot more than using normal oil paints... I think they blend better and are more "friendly" to work with. ^-^

I love seeing this picture appear before me. I have a picture book that I have not yet had published. I know the frustrations. Blessings, Janet PPF

I love water mixable oils! Best of luck with the book project. I was wondering, what made you go with dog ear over any other one? Is there a particular thing, or just because? :o)
Thanks for sharing the WIPs!
