here is my art work for this week.
I am trying out the new water soluble oil paint
made by Winsor & Newton
I have not painted anything much, just yet
...still in the drawings stage
for this children's book.
called
"Percy"
My friend and I are going to do the
self publishing thing with Dog Ear Publishing
out of Indy.
So here is a little of what I have so far.
There is Percy, a hungry field mouse
that lives in an old log.
There are two mean rats,
and of course a
cat
to deal with.
Some of you may be wondering
about the first children's book,
"Creeper"
It is in the process still.
It takes time when you self publish.
I look forward to these
little books coming out in 2012.
P S...I will pick one name
from the comments for the owl giveaway at noon and I will send the winner an email.
Thanks to those who commented on that giveaway post from last Friday.
you can still go to that post and leave a comment
before noon EST.

I have not tried those paints yet and I just realized i miss spelled winsor and newton,, sheesh I use them all the time (watercolors ) and I did a paitning for Twenty Minute challenge,, misspelled, I once was a perfectionist with grammar and spelling but my head injury took that away from me.I think its so exciting to see the makings of your book, I can't wait to have them come out, I have grand children who love this story,
Looks like alot of fun and love seeing your work space! Look forward to seeing how your painting transforms into a colorful, creatively piece!
Would love to know how you get on with these paints. Thank you for sharing. Happy PPF, x
Water based oil paints sound so incredible, although I loved using the traditional ones because of the smell of the linseed oil. I used to work in an art supply store way back in time and things have certainly changed! Much easier for clean-up though.
Very interesting to see the sketches you've made for the book... nice shots of your workspace also :) Happy PPF!
It is nice to see the work in progress and your work space... looking great and I can't wait to watch the progress xx
Wow! Delightful! ~ Bravo to you ~ great design and composition ~ will be exciting when the color comes! ~thanks, namaste, CArol (Share the Creative Journey) Happy PPF
This looks like the beginnings of a great book. Can't wait to see how it develops.
Adorable work so far!
I prefer using water soluble oils, a lot more than using normal oil paints... I think they blend better and are more "friendly" to work with. ^-^

How exciting for you and your pal Kat! Best wishes for success and thank much for hosting a giveaway:)
How exciting to have two books being published! Your little characters look so cute.
How exciting to see a book in the works from inception to print!
I love seeing this picture appear before me. I have a picture book that I have not yet had published. I know the frustrations. Blessings, Janet PPF
What wonderful sketches! It's so much fun to see the whole process! ♥
Wow! These mice are great! :) Love it!
I love water mixable oils! Best of luck with the book project. I was wondering, what made you go with dog ear over any other one? Is there a particular thing, or just because? :o)
Thanks for sharing the WIPs!
I loved seeing the process of these paintings! So interesting. I wish you much luck as you work on your children's book! Happy PPF - late! :)
